The coordiantor of PR for MAPLE will be responsible for developing and implementing a communications/relationship development plan for our new Friends of MAPLE Program consisting of donors, beneficiaries, volunteers, researchers, international partner organizations, field officers, students from around the world, and other stakeholders. 
    
The position will be on site, here at the UO and will last throughout the summer of 2017 (with flexible times to be arranged between the intern and the organization). It would be possible to do this job while taking UO summer classes. 

Experience Required/Preferred 
   Applicants need to be: 
   *Passionate about strengthening disenfranchised communities, financially, socially, and environmentally 
   *Interested in cross-cultural and international aspects of organizational communications and public relations 
   *Creative and articulate (visually, in writing, and through social media platforms) 
   *Attentive to the big picture and to details 
   *Effective working in teams and communicating over distances with some team members 
   *Organized and self-motivated 
   *Optimistic and friendly 
   *Intelligent-- intellectually, emotionally, socially 
   *Committed to learning through concepts and experience 
   Additional Notes: 
   Experience with public relations is preferred but not required. 
   The applicant can be a UO sophomore, junior, or senior. 

Schedule 
   Part-time 

Salary/compensation 
   Currently unpaid, with possibility (pending grants and performance) to move into a paid position in the future
