Job Title: Intern Department: Marketing Reports to: Marketing Manager General Summary: The KEEN Marketing Intern plays an important role in the day-to-day support functions of the Marketing department across a broad spectrum of areas, including but not limited to advertising, PR, events, promotions, tradeshows, website and retail marketing. In addition, the Marketing Intern will be involved in special projects and research within the department, working to assist the Marketing team with general organization, project assistance, competitive research, newsletter development, department events and planning, editing and proofing the KEEN website as well as administrative duties as they are assigned. Candidate Requirements include the following:  Full-time undergraduate student in junior or senior year  Overall GPA of at least 3.0  Be available for a minimum of 15 hours per week in the office for a minimum of 3 months  Show proof of eligibility to work in the United States If you have the desire and ability to contribute to and enhance KEEN’s unique culture, philosophy and core values, we’d like to have you join the team. Key Responsibilities:

Advertising & PR  Maintain and organize advertising and PR binder, including clips, editorial, media files.  

Post clips to marketing board and/or to website if applicable.  

Assist Marketing Coordinator maintain in-house library of all creative literature

Assist Associate Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinator with content development, editing and proofreading of KEEN company-wide newsletter distributed to Reps, agencies, distributors and employees.

Work with Event Manager to research industry events consistent with KEEN event strategy and maintain KEEN Marketing event calendar. 

 Assist with rollout of initiatives including ambassador program and Hybrid.Pedal initiative via logistics and administrative support.  

Update existing Pro Deal binder with new forms; initiate relationships with outdoor gear manufacturers to support the KEEN pro/ambassador program and offer discounts to KEEN employees.

Perform regular QA of the website for functionality, spelling, etc.  

Research competitor sites and recommend ways of improving functionality, design and features

Meeting planning and assistance, including securing conference room space, ordering meals, helping maintain department calendar and cleanup after meetings.  All other tasks and duties as assigned – or whatever it takes to get it done.

Knowledge/Skills Required:  

Full-time undergraduate or graduate student.  

Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.  

Strong attention to detail, follow through and project management skills.  

Outdoor industry background and/or experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:  

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 

 Job may require extended periods at a computer 

 Job may require infrequent local and/or regional travel, i.e. store visits.
