Prichard Communications is looking for an account manager to manage communications programs for its clients: Local and national foundations, top-tier nonprofits and purpose driven brands. This is a great position for a PR generalist looking to advance leadership skills, own accounts and build a community of social change professionals locally and nationally. Prichard seeks a long-term partner in this position—one that clients can turn to as a trusted resource. 

The account manager provides exceptional client service, superior writing skills and critical thinking to help clients optimize use of their communications programs. This position reports to Jenna Cerruti, account director.


Account Management* Day-to-day management of assigned client accounts, becoming the trusted partner and go-to resource for clients* Executes client projects and maintains high quality deliverables* Participates in and/or leads client calls * Identifies new opportunities to help clients reach their goals* Supports work at all levels of tasks* Travel occasionally required

Media Relations* Builds long lasting media relationships with local, regional and national reporters relevant to our clients* Writes media materials including press releases, media lists and pitches

Training* Supports client trainings, both in-person and virtual, in partnership with account director

Strategic Planning*Contributes to strategic planning in partnership with the account director

Digital/Social* Supports digital products like creating blog strategy, blog writing and website content development* Writes social media content and develops social media strategy

Internal* Manages Prichard marketing efforts. Leads social media and blog content; supports initiatives like The Portland Ten or marketing presentations* Contributes to new business development efforts* Works with graphic designers, web developers and other vendors


* 5-7 years of professional experience in public relations. Agency experience working with clients required. A background in philanthropy or nonprofits preferred* Experience in project management (particularly account management)* Experience in strategic communications planning; the account manager should be comfortable with the G.O.S.T communications framework* Firsthand experience with media relations and digital communications; experience with paid media a plus * Superior writing and editing skills* Resourceful, well organized, dependable and detail oriented* Comfortable with public speaking, facilitating meetings or conducting trainings* Familiarity of Google Services and Apps (including Analytics), Microsoft Office Suite, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Hootsuite* Strong leadership and initiative skills with the ability to roll up your sleeves, change priorities quickly and work in an oftentimes fast-paced environment* Bachelor's degree 


Prichard offices are located in downtown Portland and easily accessible by car, bike or public transportation. We share an office space with team members of Mac’s List, Prichard’s sister business. This position will have a private office. Each Friday, the Prichard team works from home unless there is a client appointment or business meeting. SALARYThis position will be paid an annual salary of $60,000 to $70,000. This is a full time, permanent position with benefits, including vacation, sick leave, health insurance and eligibility for 401(k) employer contributions.
