Our arts/culture, music and news interns contribute to our nationally read blogs. They work alongside staff reporters and under experienced editors.
Our social media interns work with our web editor to promote our profile online, via Twitter, Facebook, Digg and other forums.
Requirements:Arts/culture, music and news interns must have completed communications or journalism classes, OR have some experience writing for publication (a school newspaper or a website).
Social media interns must be familiar with online media such as Twitter, Facebook, etc. Coursework in digital media is helpful.
In general, students should be at the junior or senior level.
All interns must be enrolled in an internship class/seminar during the semester they work with us.
Basic skills in photography are helpful.
Students should send a cover letter indicating interests and experience, and an unofficial transcript. Arts/culture, music or news intern applicants should also send at least three writing samples. Social media intern applicants should send a list of their work online (Twitter and Facebook accounts, other online postings).
