Do you like kids, science, and documentary films? NW Documentary seeks a passionate,creative, talented documentary filmmaker to assist in teaching our 2012 summer youthprogram, Documentary Explorers Camp.
NW Documentary partners with OMSI to offer Documentary Explorers Camp. Thisinnovative camp takes students into nature to write, research, shoot and edit their veryown short documentaries.
This summer we return to the California Redwoods to teach documentary filmmaking asa tool for experiencing, exploring, understanding, and appreciating the natural scientificworld. With the mentorship of award-winning documentary filmmakers and experiencedscience instructors, students are taken through the documentary filmmaking process asthey investigate a topic relevant to the natural world and create their own shortdocumentary films.
Duties include: working with kids on specific assignments, assisting with Final Cut Protraining, caring for production gear, and assisting lead instructors in storytelling training.Ideal candidates will have experience working with youth, strong audiovisual productionskills, proficiency in Final Cut Pro, and a passion for the craft of documentarystorytelling.
Time:• Pre-production planning in June.• Camp dates: July 9-20, 2012. On location in the Redwoods (housing & meals provided).• Wrap up DVD production/upload of final films.
