The Office of Athletic Communications is seeking underclassmen for student internships. The internship involves helping to publicize Oregon’s Athletic Department and the individual varsity sports programs, as well as the nationally recognized “O” brand. The wide-ranging internship includes everything from being in the middle of our media operations at football, basketball and other home sporting events, to office work such as filing and research, to working on our website and social media.
The positions are available immediately, with a brief training period, before going into the full internship. The Internship would potentially continue through a successful candidate’s graduation.
The best candidates will have a strong proficiency in writing, computer programs (Word, InDesign, PhotoShop) and social media, as well as a good familiarity with the rules and statistics for all 20 intercollegiate sports sponsored by the University of Oregon.
Students will work 10 hours weekly in the office and additionally work UO home sporting events as assigned. Nights, weekends and holidays may be required. Stipend is approximately $200 per month following the successful completion of the first term. Additional pay is available for event work assignments.
Freshmen and sophomores preferred.
Applicants should email a resume and reference materials to Greg Walker, Associate Director, Athletic Communications (firstname.lastname@example.org). Links to samples are acceptable. There is no deadline to apply, but the positions will be filed as soon as possible.
