The primary duties of the Communications Intern include but are not limited to: support to the Assistant Director and Marketing/Administration Department for external and internal events, branding, messaging and public outreach, and provide support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 
    
REQUIREMENTS: 
   • Currently a junior or senior enrolled in a 4 year degree program 
   • 1-2 years of related experience preferred 
   • Effective oral and written communication skills 
   • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team as well as independently 
   • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment 
   • Valid Oregon driver’s license and ability to pass agency state and federal criminal background check 

   • Part-time, unpaid

    
COMMUNICATION: 
   • Excellent interpersonal communication 
   • Using effective, sensitive communication skills to build rapport by recognizing and adapting to the range of communication styles 
   • Communicate and update progress to the Assistant Direcctor on a regular basis 
    
FACILITATION OF SERVICES: 
   • Executes social media marketing campaigns, strategies & timelines 
   • Development of print marketing materials in conjunction with the Assistant Director 
   • Monitors outreach performance and provides feedback for improvement 
   • Add content to the quarterly news blasts to database recognizing success and marketing new opportunities 
   • Assist with updates to the organization’s website and Employee Forum 
   • Contribute content to agency newsletter 
    
 ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES: 
   • Performing all other job activities as assigned by Director Staff
