The University of Oregon library is recruiting students to apply for a Digital Designer position.
The Digital Design student will work in the library’s Strategic Communications unit. The student’s main focus will be to design templates and signage for the library’s digital display system and master the Four Winds content management software. Tasks include, but are not limited to, creating templates, scheduling content for the library’s digital display system, reformatting submissions, and creating parallel links on the marketing team’s news page. In addition, student will assist the library’s Graphic Artist 3 with the creation of original posters and designs for promoting library events and services.
Special Requirements (knowledge, skills, experience, etc):
-Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
-Solid understanding of design fundamentals like color theory, typography, illustration and digital image manipulation.
-Ability to work in a collaborative environment
-Ability to apply sound design principles to assigned projects
-Ability to make steady progress on projects and meet deadlines
-Must be a current Junior or Senior working towards a degree related to marketing, product design, graphic design or communications.
The student will be supervised by the library’s Image Services Coordinator and closely mentored by the Communications Director and Graphic Artist 3. Intern will participate in weekly meetings with the library student creative Hive team, be a member of the library’s marketing team and coordinate projects with the library’s Communications Director and Marketing Assistant GTF.
10/hours weekly $12.00/hour
