The Mail Tribune and mailtribune.com, Southern Oregon’s leading print and online news sites, are looking for a digital news reporter to cover breaking news and help us continue to expand our news presence in print and digital media.
The digital news reporter is the primary breaking news reporter for our websites and social media pages and provides support to the online editor in managing our digital content wherever it appears. Principal duties include coverage of breaking emergency service news and major news stories, published digitally and in print and including video and in various social media posts; boosting social media activity for newspaper.com accounts and providing back-up during our online editor's absence.
The digital news reporter should be conversant in the latest digital media trends and capable of quickly mastering new digital tools. The digital news reporter also must have solid reporting and writing skills, be a quick and accurate producer of copy on deadline and be an active participant in social media, videography and other digital content areas. We prefer candidates with at least two years of professional experience and a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
