Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce

General Duties: The Communications & Special Projects Coordinator for the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce performs a wide range of duties focused on ensuring that members of the Chamber receive the maximum value for their investment possible.   Additionally, this team member serves as a critical resource in facilitating the Chamber’s communications with its various stakeholders and audiences.




Coordinate production and upkeep of the Chamber’s electronic marketing and information pieces, including Chamber Update, other e-news publications, and the Chamber’s social media presence.

Coordinate production of the Chamber’s printed publications, including Open for Business.  This includes writing and/or edit articles, coordinating content from columnists and other contributors.  Manage flow of materials from writers through design and editing to final production.

Manages the Chamber’s social media with the assistance and participation of Chamber staff.

Assist all Chamber departments with developing and implementing marketing and communications plans for Chamber events and programs.

Manage the Chamber’s local, regional and national media relations activities, including writing and distributing news releases to the media and coordinating Chamber news conference and briefings.


Downtown Eugene, Inc.


Works with the Chamber President to support the programs and efforts of Downtown Eugene, Inc.


Assists with Chamber programs and events as requested


Address other duties as assigned from time to time by the President.


Skills Needed:

The Chamber is looking for an individual who demonstrates the following:


    Excellent writing and editing skills

    Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

    ability to self-manage priorities, work flow, and time

    strong customer service orientation

    ability to work in a team environment

    demonstrated proficiency in utilizing social media in a professional setting

    strong verbal presentation skills

    ability to maintain some flexibility in work schedule, with some evening/weekend work required for special events, etc.
