The Editor is an officer of the company who manages the Ethos Magazine
operations. The Editor’s primary duty is to manage all editorial productions of the publication:
the quarterly magazine, website and other digital media products.
The Editor also sets a strategic direction for the publication; trains and mentors the news staff to
meet the highest journalistic standards and builds relationships with community partners.
The Editor is expected to follow all company policies and state and federal regulations and laws.
Experience Required/Preferred (leave blank if included in position description above)
Demonstrate competitive and able to break news.
Substantial background in journalism; writer, editor & other leadership experience.
Experience in hiring, training and developing a diverse and strong workforce, desired, not required.
All applicants must be in good academic standing Undergraduate
applicants must be enrolled for a minimum of six (6) credit hours during three out of four terms.
Graduate applicants must be enrolled at the University of Oregon for a minimum of three (3)
credit hours during three out of four of the applicable academic terms.
