Oregon Bride magazine is seeking talented editorial assistants!
We're currently offering a part-time, six-month internship (January - June) for enthusiastic and experienced candidates interested in learning about the magazine industry through first-hand experience. College credit is available.
We welcome student applicants, but only those with a strong interest in pursuing a career in magazine editing, writing, and/or new media. Student applicants need not be enrolled in a journalism program, but must have a strong understanding of basic journalism skills as well as a familiarity with social media and web content.
This internship is an independent, at-home experience. Oregon Bride interns do not work at the Tiger Oak offices; the internship is based from the intern’s home office, on location at photo shoots, at various bridal functions and events, and in frequent meetings with the editors in person, via email and telephone conferences. Duties will be varied: you'll be researching stories, interviewing contacts, writing articles, assisting on photo shoots, blogging and more. Do well, and you might get your foot in the door at Tiger Oak Publications!
Interested applicants should possess: - A passion for the written word and magazines, with an additional interest in weddings, design, style, fashion and beauty; - An active interest in social networking and blogging; - An obsessive attention to detail; - Excellent writing, grammatical and spelling skills; - Superior organizational skills; - Respect for deadlines; - The ability to successfully work independently;- Ability to communicate in a professional manner;- A personal computer with updated basic programs (Word, Excel, Adobe Reader).
