Editorial Intern

Honeysuckle Press

We are seeking eager and motivated lovers of contemporary literature to join our internship program. Interns will be active members of the Honeysuckle Press team, contributing directly to the work we do to celebrate boundary-defying literature from voices unsung. We are offering editorial, marketing, and social media internships; internships are currently unpaid and remote. At Honeysuckle Press, we are exploring new ways of navigating and contributing to contemporary literary dialogue — we hope you join us on this journey.

Applications are currently open. Please note that if you have a submission in-progress with us, you are ineligible for this program. As part of our mission, we are prioritizing applications from QTPOC. Interns are accepted on a rolling basis.

Editorial interns will work with our editorial team to read and evaluate the chapbooks and collections that Honeysuckle Press considers for publication. A nuanced perspective on the possibilities of writing, as well as thorough familiarity with modern literature is necessary for this role. We are currently seeking editorial interns in both poetry and prose.

Approximately 3-5 hours a week, possibly more during high-volume submission periods. This is a six-month long digital internship.

  • Strong ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines

  • An ability to critically analyze literary work, and a keen eye for detail and craft

  • A love of contemporary literature, and a passion for independent publishing
