Job Description: The Holden Center for Leadership & Community Engagement is looking for a Web Content Manager/Web Designer to join our team. The Holden Center is a part of the Division of Student Affairs and creates experiences that prepare students to grow, catalyze others, and make substantive contributions to the communities around them. We work in a fun, energetic and student-centered environment.


Responsible for maintaining, updating and editing the Holden Center website, this position requires creativity, technical know-how and a keen eye for user-friendly design.  The ideal candidate is able to work well both independently and interdependently.  The ideal candidate is also passionate about web technologies, and seeks to create dynamic and compelling websites geared to enhance student engagement. Experience with managing the social media presence of an organization is not required but highly desirable.





Strong interest in web content and development, journalism, storytelling, multimedia design, social media, and/or digital arts

Creative experience in web design, user interface, user experience and design principles/trends

Strong communication skills: clear expression of thought; attention to details-accuracy; ability to self-edit; ability to shift voice and style as projects necessitate

Strong computer skills, including content management software, web design software, etc.

Organizational, time management skills; work efficiently on several projects simultaneously

Desire to be responsibly engaged, including fostering positive and inclusive environments


Responsible for keeping Holden Center website updated and consistent using content management system (e.g. DotNetNuke/DNN, Drupal, Wordpress, etc.)

Write, edit, and proofs new content following appropriate standards

Communicate effectively to diverse audiences; including presenting new content ideas to staff

Collaborate on communication strategies to keep website fresh, fun, and student-professional

Help ensure Holden Center brand is consistent, unified, and updated throughout website

Explore opportunities to expand and improve Holden Center web content and presentation



Learn to connect creative and technical skill sets with an organization’s mission

Build individual portfolio for future vocational opportunities/experiences

An in-depth understanding of the Holden Center, including student leadership development and community engagement practices

Knowledge of campus resources and partners
