Home Team Sports (HTS) is a sales unit of FOX Sports that offers advertisers one-stop shopping for TV, mobile, and digital media sponsorship of nearly every MLB, NBA, and NHL home team in the U.S., reaching 90+ million homes with its platforms. HTS also has exclusive media in major college conferences including Big Ten, Conference USA, Pac-12, ACC, Big 12, and the Big East. HTS is a complete sports solution featuring branded-content platforms, commercial and program production, events, and custom brand integration in live local sports. All opportunities are available on a local, regional, or national scale. HTS representation includes FOX Sports Regional Networks, Comcast Sports Net, ROOT SPORTS, YES, NESN, MASN, Altitude and others.

All internships are paid and do not require academic credit.

Department Description:

National TV Advertising Sales for Regional Sports Networks (RSN).


Work with National Sales Coordinator to monitor existing advertising schedules and provide weekly post analysis (weekly exact times process)

Work with National Sales Representative to enter sales orders, process make goods and manage revisions to orders

Shadow each person in the office (Sales Manager, Business Development, Account Executives, Client Service Representatives, and Client Service Coordinators) to see the complete process of a sale

Learn how to contact advertising agency to facilitate contract and traffic issues, such as copy delivery, receipt of contracts, and fulfillment of payment invoices

Learn to research prospective advertiser (using the internet, industry trade magazines, competitive network information) to determine feasibility of utilizing FOX Sports Net to reach target geographic, demographic and psychographic audience

Work with account executive to prepare media schedule and presentations to reach company's target audience

Learn how to organize client contact list, schedule updates and contract confirmations

Learn how to provide local marketing support to prospects and clients

Attend bi-weekly sales meetings 

Learn effective phone coverage for a highly functioning sales office

Learn effective organizational skills:  Update general office phone lists, traffic contact lists, pre-sell

Description of the department:  

Advertising Sales, Marketing, Research and Sales Service Operations for Fox Regional Sports networks and our Partner Regional Sports Networks.

Current projects and tasks that will be assigned to the intern(s):

Provides sales support by answering phones; posting some orders; writing up new orders; communication with buyers, agency assistants, sales managers and Traffic

Creates regular and ad hoc Excel reports in support of the sales function

Input orders, resolve discrepancies, file ordersa and process make-goods

Provide outstanding communication with the external clients as well as the Sales Team

Learning objectives:

Interns will learn to how to build and service advertising schedules using syndicated research tools and proprietary software tools. Interns will be able to develop their verbal and written communication skills, learn how to develop and maintain good working relationships and learn how to work in a team environment.



To participate in Fox’s Internship program you must meet the following criteria:

Be a currently enrolled student working towards an Associates, Bachelors, Masters or Juris Doctor degree at an accredited college or university. Recent graduates are not eligible for this program.

Rising Juniors or above. Students finishing their first year of school as of June are not eligible for the summer program.

Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.

All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.

Previous work experience in an office environment preferred.

Previous internship experience preferred.

Program Length:

Interns must be available to work 20 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
