Description: LaneKids, Lane County’s Parenting Education Hub, is a network of parenting education providers and stakeholders convened by United Way of Lane County to strengthen and coordinate our community’s parenting education system. LaneKids is committed to improving access to an array of evidence-based parenting education opportunities and activities for all families.
LaneKids is seeking a motivated candidate to serve as our 2012-2013 Social Media Intern. This position will work closely with the LaneKids Coordinator to create dynamic and well coordinated social media activities to promote and support LaneKids’ mission and the launch of the LaneKids website in 2013.
Assisting with outreach to market the LaneKids website
Creating and maintaining a LaneKids Facebook page
Creating and maintaining a LaneKids Twitter account
Helping to write regular blogs for the LaneKids website
Other activities, as needed
The 12 month internship will begin in December 2012/January 2013, with flexible start and finish dates and the option to renew the position after one year. This position will be unpaid and require a minimum of 5-10 hours per week.
Qualifications: Candidates must have experience with social media, marketing/communications and/or public relations. Experience with family and human services, parenting education, or education is a plus.
