Managing Editor 

Bon Appétit seeks a highly organized, emotionally intelligent, efficiency-minded manager to drive editorial workflow, departmental budgets, and staff for all of the brand’s editorial properties—print, digital, social media, video, editorial events. This position is based in New York and reports to the Editor-in-Chief.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Consult with Editor-in-Chief on all brand extensions, digital, print, staff, budgets and general operations

• Manage workflow and schedule across platforms

• Integrate with parent company: finance, product, design, consumer marketing and video teams

• Collaborate with digital and print sales teams to optimize advertising proposals

• Directly supervise editorial special projects in collaboration with the advertising team

• Negotiate business deals, partnerships and contracts and serve as key liaison to legal for business deal negotiation and contractor agreements

• Partner with Editor-in-Chief and HR to enhance the staff culture by fostering ongoing communication regarding key initiatives and serving as a resource for the editorial staff to help resolve challenges swiftly                                                    

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• A proven track record of sound judgment, problem solving and decision making ability in situations involving many departments, leaders and key stakeholders

• Experience managing a slate of multiple projects simultaneously

• Experience managing/leading a cross-functional team

• Experience working closely with finance departments on business deals and negotiation

• Extraordinary organizational and interpersonal skills
