The University of Oregon Library is looking to hire a Marketing and Social Media Assistant.
General Description of Duties:
Assist with the library’s marketing efforts in creating, preparing, maintaining, and posting content for the library’s social media presence, including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, and others.
Help develop promotional plans and carry out marketing iniatives for library-sponsored events and programs for students.
Provide support for special events for UO students.
Conduct interviews and prepare stories on areas of interest to student library users.
Create student-centered content and slideshows for digital signage (screen display).
Special Requirements (knowledge, skills, experience, etc):
Thorough knowledge of social media and networking sites
Excellent interviewing, writing, editing, marketing skills
Proficient in the use of presentation software.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Good judgment in selecting content for posting on the library’s social media sites.
Demonstrated experience working independently with minimal supervision and in leading a team
Knowledge of higher education structures and systems
10 hours/week $10.50/hour
Work study preferred
