POSITION OVERVIEW: The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing the creation and production of content, programs, and processes that execute on Ruby’s marketing strategies to achieve business goals and objectives. The fearless leader of our “in-house agency,” the MarCom Manager inspires team members to WOW their customers while creatively pushing the brand forward.
Contributing a unique combination of strategy and tactics, the Marketing Communications Manager is both a thinker and a doer.
Reports to the CMO from our Headquarters office in downtown Portland.
WHAT YOU’LL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR: 1.
Coach, mentor, and grow the Marketing Communications team. Manage the output of the creative team through hands-on assignment and project management, ensuring deliverables meet the expectations of our in-house customers. 2.
Serve as a guardian of Ruby’s voice, tone, and brand identity. Oversee and evolve the creative brainstorming process to ensure Ruby is innovative, fresh, and on brand. 3.
Manage on-time and on-budget creation, production and delivery of all marketing communication campaigns, projects, programs, content, and digital/print assets.4.
Develop and manage the editorial calendar. Execute on a content marketing strategy (eBooks, infographics, whitepapers) that positions Ruby as a thought leader to small businesses across North America, builds the Ruby brand, grows sales, and increases client retention.5.
Oversee the management and effectiveness of Ruby’s blog and social media strategies, policies, profiles, and presence on platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube in a way that builds brand awareness and attracts new followers.6.
Oversee the logistics of all company and marketing events to build community and continued awareness of the Ruby brand.7.
Execute on insertion orders for advertising and demand generation initiatives to ensure timely delivery of creative assets. 8.
Manage relationships with creative vendors including agencies, freelancers, advertisers, and news release distribution outlets.9.
Collaborate with Marketing leaders on the development and execution of monthly/quarterly/annual campaigns.10.
Assist in creating and evolving messaging hierarchy for targeted verticals.

YOUR BACKGROUND: •
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or Marketing, and 5 years’ experience in a marketing role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.•
Superior project management and time management skills. Solid experience with project management software in a marketing environment. Wrike project management experience preferred.•
Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.•
Excellent communication skills with varied audiences in a variety of mediums, including different levels within and outside of the organization. Strong negotiation and presentation skills with diverse audiences. •
Experience managing a team of marketing professionals, investing in team growth.
WORKING CONDITIONS:Work takes place in an office setting in an environment that can be high stress. It requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time and communicate effectively with a diverse audience in person, by phone and by computer. This position may require up to 10% of domestic travel and reliable transportation is required.
