This is an opportunity to play a key role in the continued success and growth of Oregon’s only all-girls, Catholic, college- preparatory high school. St. Mary’s Academy is seeking a full-time Marketing & Communications Specialist with a passion for engaging audiences through multiple channels and campaigns to communicate the compelling story about this unique school and its educational mission. The Marketing & Communications Specialist will develop and manage projects from design to completion including email marketing, social media, website development, print and digital collateral, and content marketing as well as new opportunities.


Collaborate with Director of Marketing and Communications to develop an annual communications plan that will increase brand strength with current and future audiences

Ensure brand integrity, quality, and consistency across all communication and marketing efforts

Support internal departments such as Admissions, Development, Athletics and Academics on collateral,

campaigns and initiatives to provide effective marketing services and communication support.

Strategically create content and manage the school’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram,

Snapchat, etc.) to share our story and engage with audiences

Create content for and manage updates to optimize the experience on our school website

Draft and publish communications pieces including press releases, emails, print, social media and media

outreach for internal and external audiences

Develop and manage graphic design for print and digital purposes

Track and present monthly social media and web analytics reports

Consistently produce high-quality deliverables on a timely basis and demonstrate good decision-making

Maintain a highly coordinated asset management system for images, videos, and ads

Stay current on marketing industry standards and innovation through a commitment to ongoing professional



BA/BS or equivalent in marketing, communications, or related field

Two to four years of progressive of social media, digital marketing and/or strategic communications experience

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite

Strong communication and creative skills across multiple mediums, ranging from written words to video and

graphic design.

Experience and interest in social media marketing and analytics to measure engagement

Experience maintaining website content, publishing updates and reporting on performance

Familiar with basic photography

High comfort level working with educators and high school students

Proven ability to collaborate with others, meet deadlines, and manage several projects simultaneously


Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to articulate St. Mary’s unique educational mission as a Catholic, all-girls, college-preparatory high school

Ability and enthusiasm to perform in a fast-paced environment that includes over 800 students, teachers and staff

Project management and budgeting skills

Organizational skills, ability to manage a broad scope of activities with multiple deadlines

Intercultural competency, ability to interact with and compel a diverse array of individuals with diplomacy and


Interpersonal skills, ability to maintain collaborative, collegial working relationships

Discretion, ability to maintain confidentiality where appropriate

Salary and Benefits:

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt, 12-month position. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, retirement, life insurance, holidays, vacation and sick leave.
