The Arts & Business Alliance of Eugene is looking for a team of students (2) to be an on-the-ground Eugene A Go-Go news team (see www.eugeneagogo.com) and report on arts and business partnerships and activities in Eugene. The team will post video blogs to our website, artsandbusinesseugene.org. We are developing a new website to be launched in Spring 2013 and a video blog will be a big component of that. This news team will work at the Eugene Chamber of Commerce and report to Karen Rainsong, the Managing Director of ABAE. The team will work with Connie VanFlandern, an ABAE volunteer who is knowledgeable in video reporting and editing, and will learn/ practice skills such as interviewing, writing, shot sequencing, on-camera personality, and video editing and production.
We are hoping for one male and one female in this team, and they should be enthusiastic and comfortable being on-camera and talking to people. The team will be using professional equipment and will be expected to appear professional at all times during this internship. The tag line will be "On the Go with Eugene A Go-Go!" and different kinds of arts events and happenings can be covered, from the music scene to painting and glassblowing- the range is quite broad.
The team would also work with the Manger of the new upcoming Create!Eugene arts festival happening in August, to promote the festival through artist interviews and studio visits.
Hours expected: 8-10 hours a week.
Term: To start ASAP, and we would like a team that would be willing to commit to two terms or possibly some work during the summer.
Benefits gained: Learn professional recording techniques and how to work with people in an engaging and candid manner. Learn professional video editing on a Mac using modern software. Apply your creativity in the area of public relations and build your portfolio!
As soon as possible, interested students should send a cover letter and a resume:
