This role will be responsible for creating and championing the communications/publicity strategies across NBCUniversal International Networks, including Universal Channel, Syfy, Studio Universal, Telemundo Internacional, E! Entertainment Latin America, and E! Brazil, working closely with Brand Managers and partnering with local marketing leads across the region. 

Core Activities 

Design and develop PR strategies to increase awareness of brands through free publicity and earned media to leverage the business goals for NBCUNI channels and programs 

Manage PR Agencies across the region in their execution of communications strategy, including: Monitor and evaluate media coverage in the regions to ensure the local PR agencies deliver media value objectives. Create press kits, media alerts and promotional tools Coordinate set visits, press junkets and talent tours to the region Manage media inquiries and interview requests 

Manage relationships with key distributors and Global team to maximize opportunities of access to talent. 

Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media 

Synergize corporate and trade communications and consumer publicity 

Manage a seamless relationship between the London based Global PR team and local (in-territory) PR agencies 

Proactively draft and/or edit communications documents (key messages, holding statements, Q&A, briefs etc.) and secure appropriate approvals 

Prepare designated spokespeople to support trade communications (prep documents for interviews, arrange media training etc.) 

Update business stakeholders on competition / trade developments in regions 

Identify opportunities and negotiate partnerships and editorial alliances with traditional and non-traditional vehicles 

Be in the know of local market trends, opportunities, venues, key media outlets and influencers that can be related to the target audience of each channel. 

Maintain close view on industry trends and competitors’ programming and strategies to promote it. 

Supervise assembly and presentation of reports to stakeholders and Global team 

Work with all other Marketing areas to ensure that PR strategies are fully integrated with all related marketing efforts and business goals. 

Manage PR Budget

Basic Qualifications 

BA/MA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline 

PR professional with at least 5 years’ experience

Able to understand overall communications perspective 

Proven knowledge of media landscape in Latin American territories, including non-traditional vehicles 

Highly creative with an appreciation for high quality, stylish creative work 

Good communicator and interpersonal skills – confident in presenting to senior management 

Excellent writing and copy-editing skills in English and Spanish 

Organized and detail oriented 

Ability to multitask in a fast paced work environment 

Ability to build multi-level and multicultural relationships 

Comfortable with working in matrix structure and managing virtual teams 

Enthusiastic and flexible. Able to deal with change and manage self and team under pressure 

Service oriented 

Passionate about Entertainment Industry 

Event planning experience 

Fully Bilingual (Spanish-English), Portuguese is a plus 

Fully entitled to legally work in the US 

Availability to travel for business purposes
