Public Relations & Marketing Intern

Oregon Community Credit Union

Description: To help the Credit Union establish itself as a proactive partner in our communities by promoting our products, services, initiatives, programs, and company-at-large, and maximizing our public relations opportunities with all community events. 


Actively promote the Credit Union and our support to the community to media sources in the Credit Union’s media markets and trade magazines.  Primary objective: gain earned media to promote our organization.

Submit content for OCCU’s blog showcasing our support to the community and new products or services as applicable.

Submit content for Twitter and track interactions.

Assist operations staff with events as applicable.

Assist with distribution and design of branch promotional materials as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Expectations: To follow all company policies and act as a role model to others in the following of these policies. This includes, but is not limited to, providing exceptional internal and external service, championing company values, representing the Credit Union with a high level of professionalism, working hard to support your teams, and arriving to work on time every day with a positive attitude.

Required experience:1. One to two years of similar or related experience.2. Strong writing skills.3. Strong organizational skills.4. Proficient in Microsoft Office.5. Basic knowledge of the Adobe Suite.

Education: Must be currently enrolled in an institution of higher education, actively seeking a 2- or 4-year degree in a field closely related to marketing.

Work Environment:  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Time Commitment and Compensation: Expecting about 10 hours per week. Intern will be paid minimum wage.
