The Bulletin, a 34,000 circulation daily in Central Oregon, is seeking a proven self-starter to staff its bureau in the state capital. The Salem reporter will cover the Legislature when it’s in session and, at other times, closely monitor the happenings of Oregon’s numerous state agencies. This person will also be responsible for tackling beat-specific project work.
The ideal candidate will be aggressive, tenacious and deeply interested in the workings of state government and the way in which state-level policies and regulation affect those who pay for and receive state services.
This person should be able to conceptualize the multimedia components that might complement their stories, including video, audio and slideshow elements. Ideally this person will have experience using social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter. Experience with computer-assisted reporting preferred.
