Social Media and Writing Assistant

UO Libraries

This position works closely with library faculty and staff to coordinate and post on the libraries’ social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. It also supports digital storytelling and promotions on library websites. 
   • Creates engaging text, images, and video content 
   • Researches audience preferences and discovers current trends 
   • Formats images and digital files 
   • Writes and creates imagery for digital promotions 
   • Reposts libraries branch and unit content 
   • Meets with library stakeholders to develop and plan optimal posting schedule 
   • Writes copy for digital promotions 
   • Collaborates with other social media coordinators at UO

Experience Required/Preferred (leave blank if included in position description above) 
   • Proficient in multiple social media platforms (Hootsuite, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram) 
   • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
   • Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team 
   • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize 
   • Excellent communication and writing skills 
   • Must be a current UO student 
   • Skilled in videography and photography preferred 
   • Knowledge of Adobe CC a plus (Photoshop and Illustrator)
