HuffPost is a Pulitzer Prize-winning source of breaking news, video, features, and entertainment, as well as a highly engaged global community for opinion and conversation. The site launched its first international edition in May 2011.





  • Work with the newsroom to develop a social/audience strategy and execute this strategy on a daily basis

  • Work closely with editorial leadership to put the audience first

  • Monitor breaking news and live events (i.e. award shows) in the entertainment world to ensure the most accurate information goes out on our social platforms in a timely fashion

  • Give HuffPost’s social accounts a unique aesthetic and voice that’s both informative and fun

  • Take shifts running other HuffPost social accounts (having interests beyond entertainment/culture is a plus)

  • Stay abreast of ever-changing analytics and work with management to determine new audiences we can tap as part of our growth and engagement strategy

  • Experiment with emerging platforms and small Facebook communities/groups, as both a way to deepen our relationships with our audiences to grow more engagement and loyalty

  • Work with video and multimedia teams to help bring visual assets into our overall social strategy



  • 2-4 years of experience running social media accounts in an editorial setting

  • Deep/intuitive knowledge of audiences interested in cultural topics and the ability to assimilate with those audiences on various platforms

  • Demonstrated creativity and knowledge of engagement strategies on social platforms

  • Ability to multitask in a high pressure environment

  • Ability to collaborate closely with reporters, editors, the visuals desk and other newsroom stakeholders to work on stories and projects

  • Professional writing experience

  • Photoshop/GIF-making experience a plus

  • Stays on top of industry trends

  • You run toward numbers instead of running away from numbers

  • Candidates who are strong team players, have a good sense of humor and know Internet culture inside and out are the ones most likely to succeed at this job
