Social Media & Public Communications Intern - The ToolBox Project

The ToolBox Project

 Help develop and implement public information and outreach efforts, including use of social media, for the ToolBox Project. This internship offers an opportunity to promote the ToolBox Project by:    • maintaining, updating and continuously refining the organization’s website and Facebook presence    • assessing and establishing additional social media platforms, and use of video and infographics    • preparing news releases, public service announcements and calendar notices for reporters and editors    • developing flyers, brochures and other materials in digital and print formats for the general public, and    • planning and coordinating events    Tasks also may include:    • creating communication plans for specific projects, and 
    • attending events and meetings 

 Qualifications:    • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software 
    • Ability to work independently and take direction 

  Also desirable: 
    • Knowledge of practices related to communications, public relations and public information 
    • Experience in use of social media for promotion and outreach
