We are currently seeking an intern to support the Editorial department for our Harper imprint! This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about all aspects of the publishing cycle. You will gain experience in copywriting and reading with professional discretion, and gain an understanding of what it's like to be a young editorial professional.
This summer internship is a paid opportunity (28 hours per week), and it will run from June 5 through August 10 for a total of 10 weeks.
Writing flap copy, fact sheets, reading group guides and other ancillary material.
Reading submissions and providing readers reports and rejection letters.
Learning the editorial process from the very first stage and helping to manage the reading load.
Applicants must be entering their junior or senior year of college, a grad student, or a college graduate.
Must love to read and have an interest in book publishing.
Strong communication and organization skills - a sense of eagerness is a plus!
Ability to juggle multiple projects.
Must have strong analytical reading and writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Detail-oriented and organized.
